Birrieria Apatzingan: Authentic Mexican Cuisine in Tulare, CA

Beautiful people, beautiful restaurant and most excellent food! Everything thing I've eaten here has been very good and filling. They have homemade tortillas and salsas that are soooo addictive! The meat and vegetables are fresh, and have great color, taste and texture. The portion size is generous, even for a man-sized belly, and they check on you at about the right pace to see how you are doing, and if you need a refill of your beverage. I usually get the Mexico made Coca-Cola, so I just order a second if I'm really thirsty. The staff is pleasant and professional. Even during covid they obeyed the rules and opened only when authorized. This made it rough on us that eat here often, but I'm sure it was best for all citizens. They clean often and follow the state protocol, which is a great example! I have always received wonderful service and expect to continue dining here when I come through town. EDIT: The menu has a large selection offering plenty of meal options. I did not mention on my previous review that this restaurant (usually) has a HUGE treat/candy section at the check-out area. My favorite treat is the crumble peanut-butter cookie.. yum! yum!

True authentic Mexican food! I wish we could give 10 stars! Definitely was not disappointed!! Phenomenal corn tortillas!!

Pretty good experience overall. The food was fresh and well prepared, and the prices were reasonable for the quality. Waiting time was a bit long, but manageable.

I asked for a pollo ranchers plate, but they made it out of fried chicken made who knows when, I feel the way they are cooking and preparing food is discussing, they are deceiving people, making them think is real Mexican food,.... owner it is unfair of you to do that and you still charge lots of money.

Nothing around the area but this right here is something special!! Took me and my buddy over an hour to get an Uber for about a mile down the road from the Flying J but the food and service are amazing!! We’re from Tampa, FL and never had authentic Mexican food like this and the restaurant is super authentic!! Great food and great people!! Trucking parking available. Had 3 birria tacos they weren't the best but still tasty Service was great.

Anyone traveling through Tulare, Ca. must stop here. It’s just off hwy 99 on ave. 200. Outstanding service, friendly staff, clean restaurant. With plenty of parking. I went for the birria de chivo en caldo today, man it was delicious. Also very important is the hand made tortillas, this is the only place where you will actually find a good tortillera for the job, they are soft and so good. These guy’s do it all, the salsas are really good! Hands down one of the best places for Birria in the Central Valley. I can almost guarantee everything on menu is just as good. Highly recommend, I will definitely be back!

One of the best Mexican Restaurants around in Tulare! Off of the 99 freeway. Today they're was so many truckers & big rigs coming & going (plenty of room in the parking lot). Me & the family saw 4 when we got there & some more came & stopped in to eat also & there was more family's enjoying the food because it is so delicious & tasty! . So remember dine in or take out it's all good! Thank you to all of the employees & %+ & ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐'s
